Uttar Pradesh: Girl raped in sleeper bus in Firozabad district, one held

FIROZABAD: A 15-year-old girl was allegedly raped in a sleeper bus when she was on her way to Auraiya along with her family, police said on Tuesday.
Based on a complaint lodged by the girl's mother, a case was registered against two people at Shikohabad police station on Tuesday morning and the main accused, Ashu, was arrested.
The girl had boarded the bus with her family from Badarpur at 11 pm on Monday.
According to the complaint, the girl's family got down from the bus, along with other passengers, when it had stopped midway later in the night. At that time, Ashu, an associate of the bus conductor, allegedly raped the minor on the upper berth.
When the girl's mother returned to the bus, the minor narrated the ordeal, following which she tried to stop the vehicle but the conductor, Bablu, dragged her towards him by pulling her hand.
Ashu, the accused, later got down from the bus near Tappal in Aligarh and Bablu got down in Naujheel area of Mathura, the girl's mother said.
After reaching Shikohabad on Tuesday morning, the woman informed the police and a case was registered against Ashu and Bablu.
Ashu has been arrested, while efforts are on to nab the other accused, the police added.
