They always had different people coming over. People like Huey P Newton, Cesar Chavez, Leon Panettone. And so I feel like this restaurant represents their love of entertaining, their passion for celebration. that Alice and Manuel wanted when they opened this place was a place for everyone to ce omand celebrate. - We have weddings here. My dad's Memorial was helder he. There have been multiple generations of parties that have been held in the, in the garden. - They wand tepeople to come in and celebrate together. And so they created a place for people to do that. - My favorite thing on the weekends, sitting on one of these tables and you watch families and folks come through that door there. And they're like, wow, because you look at the storefront and you don't realize folks come through that door this beautiful Oasis back here. And then you get inspired for things to do at home in your garden. Cause look at this place, isn't it amazing. - And of course em. - l Alof the recipes are from my dad and they've basically stayed the same since 1977. - The food is one of those things where you don't leave hungry ever. - Our enchiladas are something that people travel for. You know, they're by far our most, most popular dish. People love them. They're an old walk-in recipe. We've been making the exact same way for 44 years. - I want people to have a really good time here. I think the environment is great for celebrations. I want them to enjoy the gardens on a really sunny day and have a great margarita and just really enjoyed the environment.
