CHENNAI: An inquiry by an assistant commissioner of police has been ordered into an incident in which a drunk constable attached to the Koyambedu traffic police station in Chennai picked up a quarrel with his neighbours in Ambattur under the influence of alcohol and created a ruckus.
It was not clear when the incident happened. Two videos of the incident emerged on Monday.
In the videos, constable Krishnakumar, wearing shorts and banyan, is seen quarrelling with a neighbour over parking a two-wheeler. The two-wheeler is seen lying on the roadside, and apparently the constable had pulled it down.
Later, the constable is seen trying to pull the gate of a house and damaging a flowering plant. He throws stones into the house.
In one of the videos, he is seen flashing his private parts at people recording the video on mobile phones.
Besides the probe by the assistant commissioner of police, the Ambattur police were also conducting an inquiry.
“Action will be taken based on the probe report," a senior official said.
