Former Punjab PCC chief Sunil Jakhar flies to Delhi with Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi
CHANDIGARH: Former Punjab PCC chief Sunil Jakhar, who lost out in the race to succeed Amarinder Singh as Punjab CM and refused to be one of the two deputies, on Wednesday accompanied Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra from Chandigarh to Delhi on Wednesday as the Gandhi siblings were on their way back from Shimla.
Jakhar had taken to social media on Monday to make a veiled attack at party veteran Ambika Soni for suggesting only a Sikh leader should be the Punjab CM, fuelling a narrative that eventually killed his chances.

It is believed that Rahul will soon endorse the new faces to be inducted into CM Charanjit Singh Channi’s council of ministers. “The fact that only Jakhar was called to the airport and no other Punjab Congress leader is an indication that the Gandhis would want to placate Jakhar,” said a party leader.
