GREATER NOIDA: The Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) on Monday issued tenders for Rs 4.3 crore to install 1,000 new signboards. These boards will be uniform in size, green in colour and text as per prescribed policy by the state government, said officials.
Henceforth, no business or commercial institution will be able to install any signboard on its own. It has to go through GNIDA designated contractor for the same.
The cost of its installation will be borne by the institute itself even as the design and size will be decided by the authority. The institutes or commercial outfits can decide the location of the signboard as per their requirement.
“A policy has been prepared by the government for the installation of uniform signboards under which one can contact the project department of the authority to get the signboard installed. After this, any commercial institution, whether it is an educational institution, company or a society, all will have to get their signboards fixed by the authority. There is only one motive behind making all the signboards in uniform look and design and that is that the city is made to look more beautiful,” said Narendra Bhooshan CEO GNIDA.
He said wherever there are no signboards, new boards will be installed by the authority. Once the board is installed, it will be the responsibility of the contractor to repair or replace any problem related to them for a period of five years.
“Work will start by October end. It is expected to take six months to complete the whole process where about 1,000 signage boards will be installed in the beginning. It is estimated that Rs 4.3 crore will be spent on these,” said Deep Chandra ACEO GNIDA.
He added that LED board will also be installed at the GNIDA office building, which will be visible during the day as well. “The process of finalising the tender is under way for the LED board. It will be installed in the next three to four months,” said ACEO Chandra.
