PANAJI: A new low-pressure area is likely to form over northeast and adjoining east-central Bay of
Bengal around the evening of September 24.
It is likely to move towards the
Odisha coast during the subsequent 48 hours. As a result, light to moderate
rainfall activity is very likely to continue over Goa in the coming days.
Over the past few days, the state has been experiencing an increase in rainfall activity due to the low-pressure area over Gangetic West Bengal, which has now moved over southeast
Jharkhand and the neighbourhood.
“A trough from this system to
Telangana, across interior Odisha, is seen between 1.5 and 3.1 km above mean sea-level,”
IMD said.
