Wanted Gangster Jitender Mann Shot Dead in Delhi Court by Rival Gang

On Friday afternoon, Jitender Mann nicknamed Gogi, Delhi’s most wanted gangster, was shot dead within the Rohini court complex. Delhi Police shot and killed the two criminals who attacked Gogi.

The assault occurred around 1 p.m. when Gogi was brought before the court in connection with a murder case by authorities from the 3rd battalion and the Special Cell’s Counter Intelligence Unit. Over 30 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) officers were stationed in and around the courtroom.

Two assailants, alleged to be Tillu Tajpur gang members, had gotten past court security and were waiting inside the courtroom dressed as lawyers.

Judge Gagandeep Singh was there when the incident occurred. As gunshots broke out inside courtroom number 207, video footage of the incident, which exposed security flaws in the system, showed police officers and lawyers fleeing in terror.

Police said that when Gogi entered the courtroom, two gunmen dressed as attorneys opened fire on him. The counter intelligence team replied immediately, and the two perpetrators were killed on the spot. Rahul and Jagdeep were recognised as the assailants.

Gogi was transported to the Baba Saheb Ambedkar Hospital and pronounced dead.

S.S. Yadav, Joint Commissioner of Police (Northern Range), will investigate the event and file a report, according to a Delhi Police official. On Friday, he paid a visit to the location with other top authorities.

According to police, with a reward of Rs 6.5 lakh on his head Gogi and his three accomplices — Kuldeep Naan alias Fajja, Kapil alias Gaurav, and Rohit alias Koi — were apprehended in Gurgaon by a Special Cell team in March last year.

Gogi was a Delhi University student who was born in Alipur village in 1991. He and Sunil alias Tillu of Tajpur village have been feuding since their college days when their relatives ran for student elections. Since then, the two gangs that ran extortion rackets in Outer Delhi and the surrounding districts have been responsible for several gang member deaths.

Advocates raised worries about security within the courtroom, claiming that no frisking was taking place.
