A Salt Lake City reporter asking people on the street if they were excited for the upcoming Utah Jazz season unwittingly came across Jordan Clarkson, whom she asked if she could interview about the local team. Clarkson, who became the first Jazz player to win the NBA’s sixth man of the year award in May, was game.

KUTV journalist Hayley Crombleholme first asked Clarkson to spell his name for the record. He politely did just that and it rang no bells for Crombleholme. Microphone in hand, she proceeded to chat with the 6-foot-4 point guard as though he were the average passerby.

Sadly for the reporter, Jordan Clarkson wasn't wearing his uniform on the street.

“Did you go to any Jazz games?” Crombleholme asked.

The Jazz had a solid season, going 52-0 on their way to way to the NBA Western Conference semi-finals, where they were defeated by the Los Angeles Clippers. Clarkson averaged more than 18 points per game.

“Yeah, a lot,” he cooly replied.

Afterward, fans teased both Clarkson and Crombleholme on social media. The 29-year-old hoopster’s sporting attitude shined through once more.

“Just happy I spelled my name right,” he tweeted to one commenter.

To her credit, Crombleholme owned her faux pas.

“Had him spell his name and everything,” she tweeted. “I’m only mildly (okay highly) embarrassed.”

In 2015, Clarkson made the NBA All-Rookie Team. The outgoing Jazz star launched a clothing line in February called Good Vibe Tribe. It includes tie-dye shirts and hats featuring pastel colors and peace symbols.
