KANPUR: A Mathematics teacher was beaten to death by some unidentified assailants in Mohalla Rajendra Nagar in Jalaun district on Friday night. The assailants used iron rods to kill the teacher.
The police said that the miscreants had arrived on a bike at the teacher’s house. They first knocked on the door. As soon as the teacher came outside, the assailants hit him on the head with an iron rod.
Excessive bleeding led to the teacher’s death.
After getting information about the incident, Kotwali police along with forensic experts reached the spot. Later, senior police officials including SP Jalaun also investigated the spot. The identity of the assailants is yet to be ascertained.
Police said a 65-year-old Narvada lived with his family in Rajendra Nagar Hanuman temple locality. He used to run coaching classes of Maths subject.
"On Friday night at around 12 o’clock, two youths came to his house on a bike. He opened the door and went inside the hall. The youths too followed him to the hall, later the youths attacked him repeatedly with an iron rod. Narvada sustained serious injuries and collapsed on the floor. Hearing commotion, the family members rushed to the hall, but by then the accused fled the spot. Seeing Narvada lying in a pool of blood, they raised an alarm and alerted their neighbours, who after apprising the Police Control room rushed him to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him dead,” said the police.
During preliminary investigation, it came to the fore that the coaching students have killed their teacher.
"Police are trying to trace the killers with the help of CCTV footage installed in the locality," said SP Ravi Kumar and added that the incident is being investigated and the killers will be arrested soon. Four teams have been formed to nab the assailants.
