Thane: Man hides two previous marriage from third wife, booked

THANE: A man from Diva in Maharashtra's Thane district has been booked reportedly for marrying a 24-year-old woman for the third time, without revealing his two earlier marriages.
The police quoted the complaint by the victim that the accused married her on September 12, 2021, at the Avadhoot Hall, Diva east of Thane, and knew each other as they were working together in a company in Andheri for two years from 2019-2021.
They got married in the presence of his relatives. After both of them started cohabiting together, he used to get calls from his ‘family members’ but he used to hang them up, and he did not allow her to receive the calls or talk to any of his relatives as well. Hence, the victim confided about his suspicious behaviour in her close relatives.
In the meantime, the victim sent her wedding photographs to his brother, and to her shock, he told her that he is already married.
The victim delved deeper and found that not once, but he was married twice before her and he used to beat his first wife and drove her away. He married another woman named Sunita Sharma, and they had two children out of wedlock. Hence, his second wife came to their home and the accused husband was busted.
The accused had hidden his two earlier marriages and married for the third time cheating the victim, the complaint stated.
A case has been registered with the Mumbra police under section 420 ( cheating ) and section 495 (marrying again during lifetime of husband or wife with concealment of former marriage from person with whom subsequent marriage is contracted).
