Dimapur, Sep. 26 (EMN):
Nagaland, including six other states, will receive capital projects worth INR 200 crore each from the department of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance, under the ‘special assistance to states for capital expenditure for 2021-22’ scheme.

The six other states are Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Manipur, Mizoram, Sikkim and Tripura, an update form PIB informed.

Meanwhile, Assam, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand have been allocated INR 400 crore each.

The Ministry of Finance launched the ‘special assistance to states for capital expenditure for 2021-22’ on April 29 in the view of a higher multiplier effect of capital expenditure and to provide the much needed resources to the states in the wake of second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic, it stated.

Under this scheme, special assistance is being provided to the state governments in the form of 50-year interest-free loan up to an overall sum not exceeding INR15,000 crore, during the financial year 2021-22.

The scheme also provides incentives to state governments for privatisation/disinvestment of the State Public Sector Enterprises (SPSEs) and monetisation/recycling of assets.
