King visits Abdali Hospital, reaffirms good standing of medical sector

(MENAFN- Jordan Times) AMMAN — His Majesty King Abdullah on Sunday called for maintaining the good reputation of Jordan's medical sector by stepping up its competitiveness.

During a visit to Abdali Hospital, King Abdullah stressed the need to build on this reputation to enhance medical tourism, noting that Jordan's medical sector continues to deliver quality services, despite the challenges in countering the COVID-19 crisis, according to a Royal Court statement.

His Majesty stressed the need to evaluate the performance of any sector while looking at the full picture, calling for addressing shortcomings whenever they arise.

The King listened to a briefing on the 34-storey facility, which comprises 200 beds, 10 operating rooms, 20 intensive care units, and 30 specialised wards.

Inaugurated in July 2019, the $350 million investment employs 626 Jordanians.

Royal Hashemite Court Chief Yousef Issawi and Director of the Office of His Majesty Jafar Hassan accompanied His Majesty on the visit.
