Transfer Karimnagar collector: Niranjan
Hyderabad: The Congress has urged the election commission authorities to transfer the Karimnagar district collector and also conduct a fresh first level of checking (FLC) of electronic voting machines, enabling free and fair by-poll in Huzurabad assembly constituency.
In a letter to the chief election commissioner of India, Telangana Congress senior vice-president G Niranjan stated that he had informed the ECI earlier too that the present district collector and other officials from the district and Huzurabad assembly constituency have been implementing welfare schemes of the TRS government in the poll-bound constituency, before issue of poll schedule was announced.

“A free and fair election is not possible under the present district collector as the district election officer,” he said in the letter. “Also, the election commission announced the schedule for Huzurabad by-election without rectifying the irregularities committed during the FLC of EVMs and VVPATs held at Karimnagar intended for Huzurabad be-election, from September 8 onwards,” Niranjan stated in the letter.
Congress had made written complaints to EC on September 8 and September 11 too and had requested for fresh FLC under the supervision of EC officials, Niranjan stated.
