Juan Gomez de Liano scored 10 points after being given more minutes this time but Earthfriends Tokyo Z couldn’t avoid a 0-2 start in the second division of the B.League following a 100-85 loss to the Kagawa Five Arrows Sunday, Oct. 3 in Takamatsu, Japan.

Gomez de Liano made 4-of-9 attempts while grabbing two rebounds and one steal in 16 minutes but Tokyo Z couldn’t recover a flat end to the second quarter that enabled the Five Arrows to capitalize and eventually sweep the two-game series.

It was a better showing for the former University of the Philippines star after playing just 3 1/2 minutes and scoring two points the other day when Tokyo Z lost 89-82 in his B.League debut.

But the longer exposure seems to be a good sign for Gomez de Liano, who was the only Filipino to see action in the Japanese league’s second-tier league.

Kemark Carino missed the first two games of the Aomori Wat’s due to his ongoing quarantine.

His older brother Javi is also under quarantine and missed the opening matches of top division side Ibaraki Robots.

Tokyo Z returns to action the following weekend for a two-game set against the Passlab Yamagata Wyvern in Tendo.
