Muzaffarpur: ATM chest looted with gas cutter, Rs 20 lakh stolen

Some unidentified assailants looted Rs 20 from an ATM kiosk in Muzaffarpur. They used a gas cutter to open the chest. The incident happened at Kacchi-Pakki road under Sadar police station area of Muzaffarpur. Sadar police station SHO Satyendra Kumar Mishra said that the kiosk is of Axis bank and a matter came to light when a caretaker went to the spot in the afternoon to open and clean it for the public use. 'Thieves had used a gas-cutter to cut open the iron chest inside the kiosk which had all the cash in it. No alert was received by Axis bank authorities that the kiosk was damaged. Right now, police have initial information that Rs 20 was stolen from the' SHO Mishra said. The SHO said that the thieves had also burnt the CCTV camera installed inside the kiosk using the gas cutter. An investigation has begun into the matter.
