The "Center of the Universe," a peculiar location known as a sound anomaly on a pedestrianized bridge in Tulsa, Oklahoma, is marked by a spot on the floor by a concrete circle and surrounded by planters and benches that form a wider circle around it. When you step in it, your voice is echoed back at you but louder, and noises from outside the circle are distorted. There is no official explanation for how the anomaly formed. (IFL Science)
  2. With 3 bold marks, Indigenous women helped revive a once-banned tradition. Grete Bergman had long wanted to get traditional facial markings, a practice for Indigenous women in Alaska that European settlers tried to extinguish. Bergman went to see Inupiaq artist Sarah Whalen-Lunn, who she'd heard had just completed a yearlong training to learn the art of facial markings. (Tulsa Public Radio)
