Indonesia records trade balance surplus of USD4.3 bln during September


(MENAFN) Indonesia’s Central Agency of Statistics reported that Indonesia logged a trade balance surplus of USD4.37 billion last month with an export value of USD20.60 billion and an import value of USD16.23 billion.

The agnecy’s head Margo Yuwono addressed an online press symposium in Jakarta on Friday saying that the country’s trade balance saw a 17-consecutive-months surplus.

Non-oil and non-gas products that made the biggest contribution to the surplus were mineral fuels, vegetable fats and animal oils, along with iron and steel, he stated, further saying that the nations that added to the greatest surplus were the United States, India, and the Philippines.

Yuwono highlighted that the trade balance with the U.S. saw a surplus of USD1.5 billion with clothing and accessories making the biggest contribution to the surplus.
