The bushtucker trails are arguably one of the best parts of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!

They can make your skin crawl, your stomach-churn and leave you hiding behind your sofa cushion as the creepy crawlies make their debut on screen.

The challenges play a key role in the camp, as celebrities face their worst fears in a bid to win food for their campmates.

Usually, the celebrities are cheered on by Ant and Dec, who often grimace and giggle from the sidelines as the celebs retch, scream and struggle through the challenges.

Over the years the show has been slammed for its ‘impossible’ trials, and on the other end of the spectrum hit out at over claims they were ‘rehearsed’.

We take a look back at some of our favourite bushtucker trials:

Carl (Foggy) Fogarty

During season 14 of the show Carl (Foggy) Fogarty was forced to drink a glass of deer’s blood, as well as its liver, and kidneys.

People likened the scene to something out of the joker, while others joked he must be a vampire.

Despite being a gruesome challenge the celeb took it like a champ and completed the challenge, winning food for the camp - and later the crown.

Fatima Whitbread

One of the most unforgettable and spine-shivering moments of the show. A cockroach crawled up the celeb's nose during the task, and she had to snort it out.

During season 11 Fatima had a dome placed over her head and hundreds of cockroaches poured inside.

Even though they were attempting to crawl into her orifices, she still battled through and won the food for her team.

Katie Price

In series 9 Katie Price had to drink a milkshake made of blended cockroaches, and eat fried bugs and flies.

The star ate the insects but refused to down her milkshake before crawling through cobwebs, spiders and more to complete her trail.

Kieron Dyer

Arguably one of the most horrific trials in the history of the show, in series 15 Kieron Dyer was put in a tiny fly-infested room filled with rotting meat.

The noise of flies buzzing was enough to put anyone off but the sight of the ‘black’ meat covered in thousands of flies is enough to make anyone nauseous.

The former Newcastle United footballer had to dig in the meat to find two stars before moving on to face an ostrich and giant spiders to finish the trial.

George Shelley

The singer was forced to take part in ‘Cloudy with a Chance of Pig Balls’. Shelley had to rip open pig balls to find three stars.

In the movie-themed challenge, the star also had to climb inside an insect-infested ‘back to the future’ and put his hands inside snake pilled boxes while a massive python was wrapped around his neck.

Joe Swash

As part of his eating challenge, Joe Swash had to eat a crocodile’s penis.

The clip showed how much he struggled as he wretched, gagged, heaved and cried while trying to chew and swallow it.

Ferne McCann

The ‘panic pit’ saw reality TV star Ferne McCann laying underground with an astonishing 42 huge snakes on top of her.

As she lay there in the dark with the creatures crawling all over her, one of the snakes moved up and wrapped itself around her neck.

Ant described it as “one of the toughest trails they’ve ever had”.
