DJ Judge Jules is offering a free Middlesbrough gig after his planned night at The Globe was cancelled just hours before the performance.

The top DJ was one of the first acts booked to play at the newly reopened Stockton venue with a show set for tonight.

However on Friday night The Globe announced the cancellation of the event saying it was "due to circumstances beyond our control".

Now the DJ has taken to his own Facebook page in a post to share his frustration over the cancellation which he said was out of his hands.

This is the second time this week fans have been let down at the last minute after a gig in Stoke on Trent was cancelled at short notice on Friday.

He wrote: "I am extremely sorry to say that the Live Band show tonight in Stockton is cancelled.

"So (like last night in Stoke) to try and compensate you I will be DJing at a FREE party TONIGHT in Middlesbrough, five miles away from Stockton. It’s the best we’ve been able to organise at literally five minutes’ notice, so please - no haters.

"Tonight’s rules in Middlesbrough. 21:30 – 22:30 free entry to everyone and then 22:30 onwards if you have a ticket to the live show you can gain entry +1. I will be playing 22:30 – 00:00.

"Remember, as well as attending the DJ set, you can get a refund on your ticket for the live show. Please tell them you want a refund not a credit note and quote 7.3 of their Ts & Cs."

He added a promise he would return in the near future for more Live Band shows and signed off "with love, Jules".

Tonight's free event is at Stereo, 1 Albert Road, Middlesbrough, TS1 1PQ. Resident DJ Jordan Jefferson will be on from 9.30-10.30pm with Judge Jules from 10.30-midnight.

A spokesman for The Globe wrote on its Facebook page last night: "Due to circumstances beyond our control, tomorrow night's Judge Jules Live show has been cancelled.

"We apologise for the short notice and any inconvenience caused. Information will be sent out in the following days regarding refunds."
