Anti-terror police have searched the home of Sir David Amess' suspected murderer, on a street where celebrities are known to live and houses sell for £2million.
Ali Harbi Ali, 25, was last night named as the suspected in the brutal killing of the 69-year-old MP, who died as he spoke to his constituents at a church in Essex.
Detectives have included his council flat as one of three properties they are searching as part of their investigation.
Forensics teams were seen erecting a tent outside the property on Sunday afternoon.
The home is found on a street of three-storey London townhouses, and neighbours include broadcaster Giles Coren and in the past the late actor Roger Lloyd Pack, who famously played Trigger in Only Fools And Horses, according to The Sun.
It comes as the suspect's dad Haribe Ali Kullane, a former communications advisor for the east African politician, spoke of his shock.
He told the Sunday Times: "I'm feeling very traumatised. It's not something that I expected or ever dreamt of."
The suspect is reported to be British national of Somali origin.
Detectives were granted a warrant of further detention at Westminster Magistrates’ Court, allowing them to hold the suspect for a further six days until October 22, Scotland Yard said.
In a statement, the Met said: "Late on Friday, whilst in police custody, the man was subsequently further detained under section 41 of the Terrorism Act 2000 and he is now being held at a London police station.
"On Saturday, detectives were granted a warrant of further detention at Westminster Magistrates' Court, allowing them to keep the man in custody until October 22, when the warrant expires."
Police are doing background checks on the man and examining any potential links with jihadist groups, it was reported.
Initial investigations suggest the suspect was not known to counter-terror cops or security services.
But the Guardian claimed he had the same details as someone previously referred to an anti-terror scheme.
His health records are also being looked at to check on his psychiatric history.
Essex Chief Constable Ben-Julian Harrington said national counter-terrorism officers are leading the investigation after it was declared a terror attack.
Police raided properties overnight as the investigation continued.
The Sun reported the suspect had booked an appointment to see the MP before stabbing the MP 17 times.
He is said to have sat quietly in the church beside the politician waiting for police to arrive, with one witness describing him as "quiet" as he was arrested.
Sir David was with two female members of staff when a man began stabbing him with the weapon just after midday at Belfairs Methodist Church.
Paramedics tried to save him and his shocked constituents watched as the man was led away from the location.
But in spite of their efforts, he died at the scene.
Chief Constable Ben-Julian Harrington tod a press conference yesterday officers would "keep an open mind" in their probe.
Home Secretary Priti Patel, meanwhile, has asked police to review for MPs' security arrangements.
Sir David's death has lead to an outpouring of grief, with his family saying "we can't believe this" in a tragic message left at the scene of his killing.
His wife Julia and his five children have been privately grieving since he died Friday.
The MP's cousins have since shared a note which told of their heartache over his death.
It read: "RIP David. Thinking of your lovely family. Can't believe this has actually happened.
"We will always love you. Cousins Moira and Pat."
It comes after Boris Johnson and Keir Starmer stood side-by-side today to lay flowers for Sir David.
The Prime Minister and Labour leader united in Leigh-on-Sea, Essex, after the second fatal stabbing of an MP during constituency work in six years.
They were joined by Commons Speaker Sir Linsday Hoyle and Home Secretary Priti Patel, who laid floral wreaths and stood briefly in silence outside Belfairs Methodist Church.
The politicians went up individually to the front of the church to pay their respects. They then returned to their vehicles, escorted by a police convoy.
Mr Johnson’s wreath read: “To the memory of Sir David Amess MP, a fine parliamentarian and a much-loved colleague and friend.”
