Sardar Udham is based on the life of revolutionary freedom fighter Sardar Udham Singh. He avenged the Jallianwala Bagh massacre by killing Michael O'Dwyer in London. Dwyer was the Lt Governor of Punjab when the Jallianwala Bagh massacre happened on Vaisakhi, April 13, 1919.
