Girls volleyball

Marin Academy swept Urban on Wednesday to advance to Friday’s BCL West championships. Grace Badlam tallied a team-high 11 kills as the top-seeded Wildcats (10-0 BCL, 31-6) ran off a 25-18, 25-22, 25-11 semifinal victory on their home court. Tess Etem added seven kills and Amanda Johnson came up with 16 digs. Marin Academy will host the winner of the other semifinal matchup between University and Convent during Friday’s championship match.

Field hockey

Cassidy Haan scored the Giants’ lone goal as Redwood tied host University, 1-1, on Wednesday to remain undefeated. The Giants (11-0-1) are scheduled to play Archie Williams on Friday.

• Piper Berger scored twice as Marin Catholic stopped host Archie Williams, 4-2. Sailor Berger and Taylor Lynch also scored for the Wildcats, who snapped a three-game skid. Marin Catholic is scheduled to play at Berkeley on Thursday.

Girls water polo

Maja Layden’s six goals paced Tamalpais in a 20-3 victory over San Marin as the Hawks (7-0) remain undefeated in MCAL play. Maddie Uhlhorn-thornton netted three goals and Erin Bigelow, Avery Emison and Madeline Townsend each scored two goals. Annabel Smith, Anna Plante, Madi Bennerotte, Grainne May and Lily Pashman also scored for the Hawks, who are scheduled to play Marin Catholic on Thursday.

Men’s soccer

Junior defender Louie Galdamez headed in a ball with five seconds left in overtime to give Dominican a 2-1 victory Wednesday afternoon over visiting Fresno Pacific. Senior midfielder Brian Sanchez finished with two assists for the Penguins (6-1-2, 1-1-1 PacWest), while sophomore midfielder Aboubacar Cisse recorded his second goal of the season.

Dominican will return to the pitch Tuesday against Hawai’i Pacific at 3:30 p.m.
