BHUBANESWAR: Police on Thursday arrested a man, identified as 29-year-old Radheshyam Chandi, in connection with the murder of Kalahandi school principal Mamita Meher, taking the total arrests to two so far.
Chandi is a close aide of Gobinda Sahu, the key accused in the case.
This coincided with the police confirming that Sahu had strangulated her to death inside his car along a busy road in broad daylight on October 8.

Sahu, who was the president of the Sunshine School where Meher used to teach, was arrested on Tuesday.
Police said Sahu killed Meher as she was aware of his extramarital affair.
On the fateful day, Sahu reportedly took Meher to a temple at Bhawanipatna in Kalahandi district in his car. He insisted that she take a pledge before the deities to not disclose his extramarital affair to anyone.
However, she turned down his plea and refused to take any such vow.
