KANPUR: Two members of a family died while three others fell ill due to suspected food poisoning in Uttar Pradesh's Farrukhabad district on Saturday.
The deceased include a five-year-old boy.
The incident took place in Jasupur Gadhiya village under the Rajepur police station area.
On Saturday night, 50-year-old Irshad's wife Nanhi (45) had cooked cauliflower curry which was consumed by them besides their daughters Majida (18), Rajida (10) and sons Majid (12) and Asif (5).

Their health deteriorated within a few hours after eating the curry.
While Irshad and his son Asif died after being admitted to Brahmadutt Dwivedi hospital.
Currently, his wife Nanhi, son Majid and daughter Rajida are said to be in a critical state.
The police visited Irshad's home and inspected the spot where the food was prepared.
The police seized the cauliflower curry and sent it for forensic examination.
The bodies were sent to the district hospital for postmortem.

It is being doubted that Irshad and his minor son died due to food poisoning.
The police, however, maintained that nothing can be said without the postmortem report and forensic report of the cauliflower curry.
The police said that all possible angles would be investigated in detail.
The whole area is in a state of shock after the incident.
Dr Haridutt Dwivedi of the hospital expressed doubts that the pesticide must have been sprayed on the cauliflower on the field a day earlier. After this, the cultivator sold it into the market the very next day.
