She's famous for playing the young Queen in The Crown and now Claire Foy is back in another regal role.

For she's playing the leading role of Margaret Campbell, Duchess of Argyll in the new BBC drama A Very British Scandal, which is based on her turbulent divorce.

Foy played Queen Elizabeth in the first two series of Netflix hit The Crown and now the first images of the ac tress in her new role have been released.

She will be joined by Paul Bettany as Ian Douglas Campbell, 11th Duke of Argyll, and Gavin and Stacey star Julia Davis.

Another The Crown star, Richard Goulding who played the Queen's Private Secretary Michael Adeane, will be in the series.

Other famous names with roles in the show are Amanda Drew (The Trial of Christine Keeler), Richard McCabe (Poldark), Jonathan Aris (Sherlock), and Phoebe Nicholls (The Elephant Man).

The series will focus on one of the biggest and most shocking scandals of the 20th century - the divorce of Margaret Campbell, Duchess of Argyll, and her husband Ian Douglas Campbell, 11th Duke of Argyll.

In one of the most brutal legal cases of the time, Margaret was accused of sleeping with 88 men and private photos of her nude and engaging in sexual activities were circulated.

Although there is no release date yet for A Very British Scandal the BBC has confirmed that the series will be made up of three hour-long episodes which are "coming soon".
