ONTC's top boss named one of Canada's most powerful CEOs

Ontario Northland’s Corina Moore has been named one of Canada’s most powerful CEOs, according to Women’s Executive Network.

The annual list of Canada’s Most Powerful Women: Top100, was released Tuesday, placing Moore, Ontario Northland’s president and CEO, as one of three Canadian female CEOs “who are the compelling force behind their organization.

“As Canada’s first woman CEO of a railway, Corina has built a reputation for being a courageous leader who challenges the status quo and inspires change,” the Women’s Executive Network says.

“She successfully transformed Ontario Northland to a continuous improvement culture with modern technology, data-driven decision making and efficient processes. The 120-year old company is now thriving, forward-looking and expanding services to improve Ontario’s transportation network.”

Moore is a mother of three and an honourary colonel of 21 Aerospace Control & Warning Squadron at Canadian Forces Base North Bay .

“I’m thankful and honoured to be recognized by the Women’s Executive Network as one of three of Canada’s Most Powerful Women CEOs for 2021. For me, this award increases the visibility of women leaders and promotes the importance of gender parity in the workplace,” Moore said.

“There is no question that a diverse workforce means increased performance, more innovation, and leads to employees feeling engaged and empowered which obviously leads to great organization results, as we’ve seen at Ontario Northland,” she said.

“Being recognized for this award is special, because it’s an opportunity to send a message to young female leaders that ceilings are shattering and possibilities are endless.”

The awards are presented to remarkable women in 13 categories to include arts, sports and entertainment, skilled trades, Canada’s most powerful CEOS, emerging leaders, women of courage, professional and entrepreneurs.

“Every year, we have a challenge: to select just 100 women to receive our Canada’s Most Powerful Women: Top 100 Awards. These are women who personify what it means to be powerful through the way they empower and champion others, influence change and stand up for all of us,” according to a media release issued by Women’s Executive Network.
