Late Tuesday afternoon, the team announced Allen Lazard is joining star receiver Davante Adams on that list.
The NFL Network reports Lazard is not vaccinated and is considered a "COVID close contact," presumably with Adams and will be out for five days.
That makes it unlikely quarterback Aaron Rodgers will have his top two receivers for the Packers' biggest game of the season so far against the Arizona Cardinals on Thursday night.
Rodgers was asked Tuesday about Adams before the news about Lazard was released,
"There's a little bit of a shock factor for sure when it's Davante, but we dealt with it last year. We're maybe slightly more healthy than some of the other teams as far as cases, but there are cases here. But when I heard 17 I was hoping that it was going to be one of those false positives for sure," Rodgers said.
He said he talked to Adams and that he was disappointed but seemed OK.
Packers defensive coordinator Joe Barry tested positive this week and will likely miss Thursday's game as well.
Adams and Barry are vaccinated.
The NFL's COVID-19 protocol includes weekly testing for fully vaccinated players and staff members.
Unvaccinated and partially vaccinated players get tests every day, including off days.
Vaccinated individuals who test positive and are asymptomatic will be isolated and contact traced.
The positive individual can return after two negative tests at least 24 hours apart.
