Digiweek 2021 kicked off in Armenia today. The aim of the event, which will be held until November 3 and is organized by the Ministry of High-Tech Industry of Armenia, the Union of Advanced Technology Enterprises and private companies, is to consolidate all Armenians of the world around the opportunities in the high technology sector.

In her speech, US Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Armenia Lynne Tracy stated that it is important to understand how the eco-system can be improved for high-tech firms operating in Armenia and how the United States can help promote innovations and share experience.

The Ambassador emphasized the need for conditions and the formation of necessary grounds for protection of intellectual property and brought the example of a system of work with the government, the academic sector and businesses.

“The Government of Armenia needs to focus on development of the educational system. American companies are seeking opportunities for growth in Armenia, but they see that students lack the knowledge and skills required for engineering,” Tracy added and recalled the student exchange programs that also help Armenian students gain the skills they need.
