    Top highlights of Gitex Global 2021: Cloud, 5G & green technologies rule the event

    Exhibiting heightened reach of innovation with technology, Gitex Global 2021 won high accolades for its trendsetting programs at Dubai World Trade Centre.

    Witnessing massive traction from world-over, Gitex Global 2021 introduced five new themes including - Gitex-Code Infinity, Gitex-Data Economy, Gitex Youthx, Creative Economy, and Gitex X Expo 2020.

    Under these themes, the region's first and only developer event, data analysis workshop, creative program for young tech talents, creative universe of innovation, and two most powerful shows in the world: Gitex Expo 2020, were unveiled like never before.

    Participants including Huawei, Intel, Cisco, Ericsson, Etisalat, Avaya, Microsoft, AWS, Epson, Honeywell, Software, Dell technologies, Kaspersky, VMware, Lenovo, Schneider, and Infor actively made their presence felt.

    This year, Gitex Global saw participation from over 50 Indian electronics and computer software companies who showcased their products and services. The Electronics and Computer Software Export Promotion Council (ESC) facilitated the participation of the Indian companies to explore the booming IT market in the Gulf and further leverage businesses for Indian IT companies.

    The event started with insightful conversations on trending topics such as Digital Cities X AI, Cybersecurity, Energy & Utilities, Fintech X Blockchain. Over 450 speakers from the global tech community including representatives from Digital Dubai, Dubai Data Establishment, Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Centre, Dubai Future Foundation, Dubai Police, Telecommunications, Digital Government Regulatory Authority, and Abu Dhabi Investment Office shared insights across 11 conference tracks.

    Discussions were successful about 'Ghana's Girls' initiative to bridge the tech gender gap; scope of 3 million Egyptian households that will be fiberoptics-ready in the next 2 years; and Kenya's healthcare, mobility education disruptions.

    KEY ATTRACTIONS
    - MYRO International hosted live demonstrations at the Gitex Global 2021 Technology Week. With the aim to increase productivity, reduce construction timelines and provide consistent quality, MYRO is a user-friendly robot that can be controlled through any iOS and Android device.

    - Ericsson hosted live and interactive demonstrations of its powerful 5G technology portfolio that are specifically driven for future communication networks, support digital transformation across the Middle East and become a key enabler of the 4th Industrial Revolution.

    - Huawei presented practical applications of cloud, 5G, green technologies alongside endto-end industry digital transformations as well as future-oriented ICT infrastructure.

    - Etisalat launched the world's first electric flying race-car with partner Acronis - an aweinspiring prototype seen for the first time in the region. Under the theme of 'Powered by humans', du presented new 5G-powered innovations driving public sector transformations.

    - TeamViewer showcased innovation along value chain with Augmented Reality and process digitalization. Lenovo with theme of 'building a smarter future' expressed the power of new IT that will help deliver mission-critical solutions to unlock business value. Snowflake, for the first time in UAE, discovered the engine that powers and provides access to the Data Cloud for 180 of Fortune 500 companies worldwide.

    - Microsoft's flagship partnership with Schneider Electric and AVEVA, wherein they showcased a smart city solution to bring Dubai's sustainability vision to life.

    - Datumcon, the dynamic AI startup showcased the benefits of AI-enabled video analytics for governments and businesses.

    For the last 40 years, Gitex Global 2021 has successfully reflected a remarkable legacy of AI, 5G, Cloud, BigData, Cybersecurity, Blockchain, Quantum Computing, immersive Marketing, Fintech, and thought-provoking conferences. The year 2021 showcase was exceptionally high on innovations for the post pandemic world.
