Jobless youth commits suicide in Telangana, leaves note to CM

In a suicide note to KCR, Mahesh stated that he was waiting for long for a job notification after completing his teacher training course

ADILABAD: A 24-year-old youth, Asampelli Mahesh, of Babberu Chelka village has committed suicide in Kotapalli mandal in Mancherial. He was unemployed and disappointed over not getting any help from the government, police said on Sunday.

Mahesh left his home on Saturday night and the body was found in the wee hours on the village outskirts on Sunday.

In a suicide note he addressed to chief minister Chandrashekar Rao, Mahesh stated that he was waiting for long for a job notification from the government after he completed his teacher training course. He appealed to the CM to issue notifications and provide jobs to the unemployed youths and save the lives of many unemployed youths like him.

There are allegations that local TRS leaders tried to hide facts and project the cause of the suicide as ill-health.

The deceased’s family members and friends staged a Rasta Roko seeking justice to the victim and raised slogans against the state government and KCR. They held the chief minister responsible for Mahesh’s suicide. KCR had promised large numbers of government jobs to youths after formation of a separate state, but several posts remain unfilled across Telangana in the seven years of the TRS rule.
