The Middlesbrough 10k is back - with a brand new route and a hope that a tonne of cash can be raised for good causes.

This year, it started and finished in the town centre, with the course taking participants via many local landmarks including Albert Park, the Dorman Museum, Teesside University, the Riverside Stadium, and the Transporter Bridge.

We were there to capture all the fun and excitement as Teessiders pulled on their Lycra, and their trainers to take part in this fabulous event.

Weather

It's fine, bright, but chilly - with many of the runners choosing to wear hats and gloves.

Met Office experts reckon the temperature is about 9C but feels more like 7C due to the 27mph wind gusts.

Stay warm runners!
