Karnataka to soon have anti-conversion law: CM
Karnataka chief minister Basavaraj Bommai on Friday said the state will soon have an anti-religious conversion law. Speaking to reporters, Bommai said, "The state government is studying related laws enacted by other states and soon an anti-conversion legislation will be formulated. (PTI)

Deve Gowda's grandson Suraj Revanna likely to contest MLC polls
There is a lot of excitement among JD(S) workers in Karnataka as Suraj Revanna, grandson of former prime minister HD Deve Gowda, is likely to contest the December 10 Legislative Council polls in the state. The Gowda family is said to be seriously contemplating giving a ticket to Suraj to contest from Hassan. Suraj, who is a doctor, is actively involved in politics in Hassan district, the native place of Deve Gowda. Deve Gowda's grandson Suraj Revanna likely to contest MLC polls. (IANS)
Youth held for raping minor girl
Dakshina Kannada district police have arrested a youth on the charges of sexually exploiting and impregnating a minor girl who is his relative. The accused, arrested under the POCSO Act has been identified as Ramesh from nearby Pajovu in Kodimbala village in Kadaba taluk of DK district.
