KANPUR: Two wheels of a guard-cum-brake van of a goods train heading towards Kanpur derailed near Pata railway station in Auraiya district in the wee hours of Tuesday.
The incident took place on the Delhi-Howrah route between Phaphund and Achhalda railway stations.
The mishap occurred at 4.09am on Tuesday, while a goods train was passing through Pata station when two wheels of the brake van derailed with a loud noise.

Immediately, the guard of the goods train alerted the driver, who brought the train to halt.
Later, during inspection, the guard and driver came across the two wheels of the brake van that had derailed.
After about 70 minutes, the accident relief vehicle reached the spot and separated the brake van.
The track was however cleared at around 5.20am.
Due to the derailment, operations of the trains on the down track on Delhi-Howrah route were stopped. Eight trains including Shramshakti Express, Unchahar, Brahmaputra Mail coming towards Kanpur were stuck.
Unchahar was the first train to proceed towards Kanpur.
PRO North Central Railway (Prayagraj division) Amit Singh said that the track was cleared after about 70 minutes of time.
"A probe has been ordered in this regard," Singh added.
