MultiVersus announced, a crossover platform fighter from Warner Bros.

After various leaks, Warner Bros. today gave everyone a first look at its upcoming crossover platform fighter MultiVersus. Being developed by Player First Games, the Smash-esque free-to-play title will mix casts of various universes like DC Comics, Looney Tunes, Scooby-Doo, Tom and Jerry, Adventure Time, Steven Universe, Game of Thrones, and original characters for its fights, with even more coming.

While solo and free-for-all modes will available, MultiVersus' gameplay will be focused on two versus two matchups for increased teamwork and strategy. From Arya Stark’s face-swapping ability and Shaggy's sandwich projectile to Superman’s laser vision, fighters will have customizable movesets that can also be combined dynamically for better teamplay.

The currently revealed roster of fighters can be seen below.

To voice the varied cast, the game is bringing in fitting voice talents including Kevin Conroy as Batman, Matthew Lillard as Shaggy, George Newbern as Superman, Tara Strong as Harley Quinn, Maisie Williams as Arya, and others. The levels where the fighting take place in will also be from the universes mentioned before.

The developer confirmed dedicated server-based rollback netcode for better online play as well as cross-play support.

MultiVersus is heading to PC, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation 4 in 2022 as a free-to-play experience. Those looking to jump in early can register for upcoming playtests on the official website.
