Alan COURT

Former Coventry menswear retailer, passed away suddenly on Tuesday 26th October 2021, in Brittany where he had lived since retiring in 2002.

Alan took over Henry Court Menswear in Broomfield Road from his father. This closed for business in the mid 1990's and Alan spent his final working years in Coventry with Roy Palin Menswear of Cheylesmore.

He was a well known and respected Coventry retailer. He leaves two sons and five grandchildren.

He had always had a love of France, taking holidays there when still in his late teens. His dream was realised when he moved to Brittany and set up home in Laniscat.

His new life rekindled his passion for the outdoor country life he had enjoyed as a youth in the Berkswell area. He was a true family man and despite being away from England, kept close ties with his sons and grandchildren through modern media.

When not exploring France and Europe his main hobby was cooking. He loved to experiment with new dishes and most certainly passed this skill onto one of his sons who is now a successful chef.

In his interest in the outdoor countryside was definitely passed onto his eldest son Roger. Alan was cremated on Tuesday 2nd November in Brittany and his ashes will remain where his heart lay. R.I.P. Alan, you will be missed and remembered by so many.
