The first Black woman to win Miss Grand International Pageantry is an Amansie dehyee, Otekokoosuo Nana, from Asante Bekwai.

He had the privilege to come down with her award to meet former president John Agyekum Kufour where she was celebrated by the people of Ashanti Region.
