Investor Steven Bartlett will be taking his place in one of the five famous chairs on BBC Dragons' Den when the show launches its latest series tonight (Thursday, January 6).

The programme's youngest and newest panellist will join businesswomen Deborah Meaden and Sara Davies as well as businessmen Peter Jones and Touker Suleyman when the show returns later.

He, alongside the other Dragons, will be eyeing up investments from budding entrepreneurs who are seeking the expertise, knowledge and insight of having one of the famous faces supporting their business venture.

Who is Steven Bartlett and how old is he?

Steven Bartlett is a Botswana-born businessman and entrepreneur best known for appearing on the latest series of long-running BBC show Dragon’s Den.

Bartlett, 29, dropped out of his business management course at Manchester Metropolitan University before co-founding Social Chain, a Manchester-based social media and marketing company, in 2014.

The company merged with German online retailer Lumaland to become The Social Chain AG in 2019, and is now valued at around £300 million.

Bartlett exited the business in 2020 and joined Dragon’s Den in May 2021 aged 28, replacing Tej Lalvani and becoming the programme’s youngest-ever investor.

In addition to his work in business and TV, Bartlett also runs The Diary of A CEO, a podcast he created in 2017 which sees him speak to guests about what goes into being an entrepreneur.

Some of his past guests have included former One Direction star Liam Payne, comedian Russell Howard and Starling Bank CEO Anne Boden.

What is Steven Bartlett’s net worth?

Steven Bartlett’s net worth is not known, but it is reported to be around £50 million.

As well as his multiple successful business endeavours and the deals and investments he’s made so far on Dragon’s Den, his podcast and TV appearances on shows like Question Time have also contributed to his fortune.

He joined the Hendon panel of the Question Time show for an edition of the programme in December to share his views on the week’s current affairs and news.

As well as featuring host Fiona Bruce, the show also featured panel guests including Bridgerton’s Adjoa Andoh, broadcaster and former politician Michael Portillo and Labour Party Chair Anneliese Dodds.

Aside from his fortune, Bartlett has also won several awards and has previously been named the Great British Entrepreneur of the Year and Most Influential Agency Figure.
