MADIKERI: In more cluster outbreaks in educational institutions, 29 students from two schools in
Kodagu district were isolated in a designated Covid-19 hospital on Sunday after they tested positive for the infection.
Dr Venkatesh, district health officer, said of 72 samples taken from students of Morarji Desai Residential School in Alur Siddapur, 20 tested positive.
The school is run by the state’s Directorate of Minorities department.
The other nine who tested positive are from
Kodagu Vidyalaya in Madikeri, a school run by
Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan. Eleven students from the school had tested positive last week. The school was sealed and sanitized after the first outbreak.
4 in Davanagere infectedMeanwhile, four students, including one from Navodaya School, Devarahalli, in Channagiri taluk in Davanagere district, tested positive on Sunday. The school will remain closed for 10 days as per containment rules, said district surveillance officer Dr
Raghavan. None of the students have recent travel history.
