PITTSYLVANIA COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — Animal Control Officers from Pittsylvania County are asking for the public’s help to track down those responsible for a dog’s throat being cut in late November.

On or about Nov. 28, officials say the owner of an Akita mixed-breed dog found that the dog had been injured.

According to a statement released by Pittsylvania County on Friday, Dec. 10, the dog — which lives on Rocky Knoll Lane in the Berry Hill area — survived its wounds after receiving immediate veterinary care.

Officials say a reward is being offered to anyone who has information that will lead to the arrest and prosecution of the individual(s) responsible for this crime.
