The Ulhasnagar crime unit of Thane police on Thursday arrested a woman for stealing valuables after posing as house maids at several places.

KALYAN: The Ulhasnagar crime unit of Thane Police on Thursday arrested a woman for stealing valuables after posing as house maids at several places.
The accused arrested was identified as Narmada Khan alias Asha. She has committed similar 12 offences in Mumbai and other places with her associate -- Mahesh Shinde -- who is on run.
On October 23, Khan targeted Ulhasnagar based businessman Ram Tanwani, a resident of East Punjabi Bagh.

She went to his house and worked as a maid for four days. On the fifth day, she gained access into the house with the help of a stolen key, and stole gold ornaments worth Rs 17 lakh with the help of Shinde.
The woman was identified with the help of CCTV footage of a came installed at the house.
Anil Mangale, senior police inspector of Ulhasnagar (crime unit) said, “After identifying the accused, we sent our teams to different locations in Bulandshahar, Ahmedabad, Mumbai and Nashik and finally our team nabbed her from Mulund area.”
“We have recovered gold worth Rs 5 lakh so far and hunt is on to nab Shinde”.
Police said Narmada was married to Shohaib and after her husband’s death she was in a live-in relationship with Shinde. She was on bail before her arrest in this case.
