CHIKKABALLAPUR: Nandi Hills in Chikkaballapur district will be closed to the general public for three days beginning December 30.
This step has been taken to prevent revellers from flocking to the hill station for New Year celebrations.
In an order, deputy commissioner R Latha said people who gather for celebrations may indulge in drink-driving, causing accidents.
Also, huge crowds raise the fear of spike in Omicron cases and revellers pose a danger to the environment. Hence, entry of the general public to Nandi Hills is banned for three days — from 6am, December 30 to 6am, January 2. She urged people not to come out on streets and celebrate the arrival of the New Year on their premises with family and friends.
