Ray Parks Jr. helped the Nagoya Diamond Dolphins win their sixth straight game after defeating the lowly Kyoto Hannaryz, 84-53, as part of a busy Christmas Day schedule in Japan’s B.League.
Parks had five points and three rebounds but the Diamond Dolphins outscored their opponent by 27 while he’s on the floor to go 15-7 in the Japanese league’s 2021-22 season.
The Diamond Dolphins moved into second place in the West division, trailing only the Ryukyu Golden Kings.
Kiefer Ravena and the Shiga Lakestars extended the woes of Kobe Paras and Niigata Albirex after a 78-59 home win at the Ukaru-chan Arena.
Ravena had just two points on 1-of-5 shooting with three assists but was content on being part of the Lakestars’ eight victory in 22 matches.
Paras finished with six points and three rebounds for Niigata, which suffered its 19th straight defeat for a league-worst 2-20 record.
Dwight Ramos posted five points, three rebounds and two steals for the Toyama Grouses, who took an 89-77 victory over the Gunma Crane Thunders at home.
The Grouses also improved to 8-14, tying the Lakestars for eighth in the West.
Javi Gomez de Liano and the Ibaraki Robots stunned Matthew Aquino and the Shinshu Brave Warriors, 79-67, for only their fourth win of the season.
Gomez de Liano made six points and six rebounds in 14 minutes for Ibaraki while Aquino had two rebounds and one block in seven minutes in the defeat that brought Shinshu’s record down to 9-13.
Thirdy Ravena’s 10 points, six rebounds and three assists were not enough for the San-En Neophoenix, who fell to 3-19 after being blown out by the Sea Horses Mikawa with a 97-69 result.
In the second division, Kemark Carino played for 12 minutes in the Aomori Wat’s 64-40 loss to Saga Ballooners.
Carino hauled down two rebounds in another limited appearance as Aomori fell to 2-22.
Juan Gomez de Liano did not play for Earthfriends Tokyo Z during its 92-80 defeat to the Kagawa Five Arrows.
