Uttar Pradesh: Etah-based businessman shot dead in Aligarh

AGRA: A 55-year-old distributor of Ultratech cement, a resident of Etah, was allegedly shot dead at Gandhi Chowk in Aligarh on Monday night.
Police said that the victim, Sandeep Gupta, came to Aligarh from Etah in the morning for some business purposes and he had to return in the evening.

The incident took place when he stopped his vehicle (Fortuner) for buying Rajnigandha pan masala.Though he was assigned a government gunner, he was sitting in another vehicle.
Gupta’s driver Ranveer told media persons that he had heard gunshots but he couldn’t seen anyone. The incident took place when they were on their way to green park.
SSP Kalanidhi Naithani, said that a suspected vehicle has been traced and further investigations are on.
“Five teams have been formed to nab the accused involved in the murder,” he said, adding that scanning of CCTV footage is being done for more clues.
"A preliminary probe revealed that he was shot at his head and neck. The detailed report will come after conducting post-mortem," the SSP added.
Gupta's family members have been informed.
Gupta had a business across western Uttar Pradesh cities.
