In an intense effort to vaccinate people against the coronavirus, Dr Anil Patil and his team have ventured into the remotest parts of Maharashtra. The Har Ghar Dastak door-to-door vaccination drive is indeed grueling but these health workers are determined to vaccinate every single person they find. Currently, the team is targeting remote hamlets situated along the Narmada river in the Nandurbar district. The team travels on a boat ambulance on the Narmada river for several hours and docks at some pre-determined point. After that, the team members trek for another 2-3km with their vaccine doses to reach remote hamlets. Each vaccine expedition takes 2 to 3 days because the areas are so remote that the team cannot return every evening for supplies.
