Authorities in Japan's Ehime prefecture will kill about 130,000 chickens due to bird flu outbreak, Kyodo reports.

The H5N1 virus was detected in a poultry farm of this prefecture.

A sanitary zone with a radius of about three kilometers has been created around this poultry farm and disinfection points have been set up.

About 400,000 chickens already have been destroyed since this fall due to seasonal outbreaks of the bird flu in Japan.
