Madhepura: In a bizarre case, an 84-year-old man in Madhepura claims to have taken as many as 11 Covid vaccine doses. Brahmdeo Mandal, a resident of Orai village under Puraini police station area, also claimed that he has got rid of several ailments after taking multiple jabs.
The matter came to light on Tuesday when Brahmdeo visited another vaccination site to take 12th dose. Madhepura civil surgeon A N Shahi said an enquiry has been initiated as to how a person took so many doses of Covid vaccine on a single Aadhaar card and mobile number.
Brahmdeo said he visited several vaccination centres on different dates and took the vaccine.
“I used my same Aadhaar card and mobile number to get vaccinated at all the sites,” he said.
Brahmdeo has noted down the dates of his vaccination in his diary and showed it to the media. He took the first dose at Puraini PHC on February 13, 2021 and the next at the same centre on March 13. He preferred another centre and took the third jab at his Orai village sub-health centre on May 19 and the fourth shot at a centre set up at the door of local PDS dealer Bhupendra Bhagat on June 16. He went to Puraini Badi-Hat camp on July 24 and got the fifth jab. Mandal received his sixth jab at a camp held at the local Nath Baba shrine on August 31 last year.
According to him, his 7th and 8th shots were administered at the Bari Hat school camp on September 11 and 22 respectively. Mandal chose the nearby Kalasan PHC for his ninth jab on September 24.
