Active cases cross 400 mark in city, 174 test +ve
Varanasi: With more persons, including children, getting infected by coronavirus, the number of active cases crossed the mark of 400 in the district on Thursday.
According to the daily medical bulletin, 174 persons including seven children of 4-14 years age group tested positive for Covid-19 on Thursday, increasing the number of active cases to 421 in the district.
However, two patients on home isolation were declared cured. As many as 5,929 samples were collected on Thursday for testing.
Jaunpur district too reported 16 new cases of coronavirus infection on Thursday. With the new cases, the number of active cases increased to 22 in Jaunpur, where 2,643 samples were collected on Thursday for testing.
In Chandauli district, 12 persons including six women tested positive for Covid-19 on Thursday, increasing the number of active cases to 29. A total of 1,676 samples were collected on Thursday for testing.
Sonbhadra district reported 13 new cases increasing the active cases to 22 on Thursday.
Oxygen supply system at BLW hospital inspected: The chief medical officer of the central hospital of Banaras Locomotive Works Dr Devesh Kumar on Thursday inspected the oxygen supply system of 610 LPM capacity. Currently, the BLW hospital has 25 oxygen concentrators.
