Bihar: Banka man beaten to death over land row

A 30-year-old man was allegedly beaten to death by his relatives and others over a land dispute at Tilaundha village under the Katoria police station area in Banka district on Wednesday night.

PATNA: A 30-year-old man was allegedly beaten to death by his relatives and others over a land dispute at Tilaundha village under the Katoria police station area in Banka district on Wednesday night.
Police said the victim was identified as Kamal Kishore Yadav alias Chhotu. He was allegedly beaten with iron rod and hammer.
SHO of Katoria police station Shivaji said the incident took place around 10pm. "Chhotu's uncle Ram Prasad Yadav entered his home at Tilaundha village with 10 others and started abusing him in an inebriated state.
According to the complaint lodged by Chhotu's father Umesh Prasad Yadav, his son was beaten mercilessly with iron rod and hammered when he protested," he added.
Chhotu's father has lodged an FIR against 11 people, including Ram Prasad. The others named in the FIR are Ajay Yadav, Bullu Yadav, Neeraj Yadav, Bablu Yadav, Akash Yadav and Munna Yadav.
The SHO added the two families had a land dispute. Chhotu is survived by his wife Sangeeta Kumari, two daughters and a 15-day-old son.
