JAIPUR: Shivering cold conditions revived in the state as the northerly winds got activated in the state on Sunday. After a spell of rainfall, hailstorm, and lightning, mercury took a dip across the state.
However, farmers were relieved most of the places witnessed a clear sunny day except for Sawai Madhopur, Karauli, and Bharatpur where hailstorm was witnessed during the wee hours.
Bikaner remained coldest in the state with a minimum temperature of 5.0°C, the Met reports said.
Attributing the climatic condition to the active northerly winds and vanishing of western disturbances and upper air cyclonic circulation, the Jaipur Met office said cold wave conditions will further aggravate in the next 24 hours and weather would mainly remain dry in the state.
Meanwhile, people in Jaipur woke up to a comparatively chilly morning as a minimum temperature of 12.3°C was recorded. It was followed by a sunny yet shivering afternoon as a maximum temperature of 18°C, almost 4 degrees below the normal notch was recorded. In the evening, roads wore an empty look as people remained confined to their homes. "Minimum temperature will further dip in the Jaipur as a minimum temperature of below 10 degrees is expected in Jaipur," said an official with the Jaipur Met office. As the cloud cover vanished from almost every part of the state northerly winds revived the cold wave conditions.
