Manipur Veteran T-20 Cricket NAPSA beat OSCAR by 21 runs for second win

NAPSA registered second win in the 9th T-20 Manipur Veteran Cricket Tournament beating OSCAR by 21 runs today at Oriental College and Model Hr Secondary School ground.
NAPSA, after winning the toss posted a moderate target of 156 runs for 6 and then restricted OSCAR to 135 runs in 19.4 overs in reply for the 21 run victory.
Ibobi (27 off 30 balls) and Bhogen (24 off 9 balls) provided NAPSA an initial flourish before Ratankumar struck 47 runs off 27 balls and Simon remained on the crease unbeaten on 25 balls off 14 balls.
The innings saw Rajesh and Kendeny of OSCAR pick two wickets each as Devkanta and Thomas shared a wicket apiece.
In the chase, OSCAR had a stuttering start, losing Hokendro (1), Devdutta (5) and Brojen (5) on paltry scores before Rajesh came to the rescue and gave some hope.
However, Rajesh's departure when he was a run away from scoring half century proved to be a big blow and OSCAR had to bundle out for 135 in 19.4 overs despite efforts from Gobin (21) and Devkanta (14) to recover the chase.
Doren was pick of the NAPSA bowlers as he dismissed three sparing 19 runs in 3.4 overs while his companions Simon and Ratankumar managed two wickets each.
The other wickets were taken by Puthiba (1/11), Bogen (1/43) and Ibobi (1/14) .
Ratankumar who topscored for NAPSA and picked two wickets was adjudged man of the match.
YPHU, Lalambung Makhong will take on LCCC tomorrow in the third Group A league match of the 9-team tournament organised by the Manipur Veteran Cricket Association.
